tiiiiiiiired.
Just got back home. Have decided that today is a weird day. Apparently, I also found about my bloodthirsty side. Huh.

After loudly announcing that I will probably puke at the sight of a dissected frog, I was forced to take back what I said.
The task was to skin our frogs in pairs, and I was partnered with Chris
chrisviz. We were given a male frog, much to our delight, because chances are, if you were given a female frog, she would've been pregnant. (And pregnant frogs' innards stink when you open them up. I speak from experience.)
We named our frog "Freddy," and, much to my bemusement, I found his spasming cute when we doused him with chloroform. (Yes, I know, weird - I'm sorry.) I was the one who pithed Freddy, and I found the sound of crunching vertebrae satisfying. Haha. (Er, yes.)
I've found that skinning a frog becomes easier when it looks less like a frog, and more like a piece of raw chicken. And that one should pay attention to where they're placing their scissors, because they might puncture a frog's poison sac. (Chris forgot about the sacs. I was just brain dead. Gah.)

The English block will be performing an adaptation thingamabum tomorrow.Joy. The theme is "Filipino Poetry in English," and the poem we chose is Angela Manalang-Gloria's Soledad.
It'll be the best performance ever. REALLY, IT WILL. Because we are the best Merit English block!!! Or not.

Soledad
Angela Manalang-Gloria
It was a sacrilege, the neighbors cried,
The way she shattered every mullioned pane
To let the firebrand in. They tried in vain
To understand how one so carved from pride,
And glassed in dream could have so flung aside
Her graven days, or why she dared profane
The bread and wine of life for one insane
Moment with him. The scandal never died.
But no one guessed that loveliness would claim
Her soul's cathedral, burned by his desires.
Or that he left her aureoled in flame...
And seeing nothing but her blackened spires,
The town condemned this girl who loved too well
And found her heaven in the depths of hell.
