Is it generally problem-free?
It's generally problem-free, only it's a bit slow, and there are some compatibility issues, of course, since it's still a bit new and people are still on XP. You'd need at LEAST 1GB of physical memory to function properly. (Don't believe the manufacturers saying that 500MB is enough for Vista to work -- they're LYING.) I checked the memory usage at startup when my laptop was still new (hence it has practically no software yet), and it was around 750+MB already! And keep in mind I have Vista Home Basic, not Ultimate, so I don't have the purty transluscent Start menu and window border thingies and the thumbnail views of minimized windows. O____o

If you're a very impatient person, then I don't recommend Vista. But it's perfectly fine for me, since I have a long history of dealing with slow computers. xD
