death note ramblings
I just finished watching Ep. 25 of Death Note (yes, yes -- I took too long to join the party, as usual) and...I don't know if I should be amused or what.
The Christ symbols throughout the episode disquieted me. L stood in the rain, having a conversation with Light -- it's the Jesus' agony in the Garden of Gethsemane. While L was drying Light's feet after going in from the rain (the yaoi fangirl in me squeed like you'll never believe), the shot of a cross made by the windows' shadows had the subtlety of a truck running over a house and it's obviously alluding to Jesus washing the feet of his disciples before the Last Supper. Or maybe I'm just reading too much into things.
Meh.
