fic recs

Fandom: Harry Potter
Title: Brighter Morning
Author: GreenGecko
Rating: K+ (PG)
Summary: Harry wakes up in an unfamiliar house with an unfamiliar son, Arthur, who must overcome his Muggle background to help his father regain the life he lost track of fifteen years ago as well as cope with his own introduction to the wizard world.
Comments: Best OC-centric fic in the HP fandom I've ever read. The science-fictionish feel to the Muggle world is believable.

Fandom: Star Wars
Title: Ghost of the Past
Author: Spirit White
Rating: T (PG-13)
Summary: In his youth, Luke Skywalker was killed in a horrible accident. Now, thirteen years after the death of his wife, Lord Darth Vader must deal with a ghost of the past.
Comments: 'Tis muy cute. Idea's original, too. Go read!

Fandom: Howl's Moving Castle
Title: A Woman True and Fair
Author: The S
Rating: T (PG-13)
Summary: What might Howl's Moving Castle have been like if the 3rd person narration had been biased toward Howl's point of view instead of Sophie's? This is an exercise in what if.
Comments: Don't read if you don't like overly-descriptive narratives. The Welsh references are very entertaining. :D

Fandom: Troy
Title: Pomegranate
Author: the original coda
Rating: M (R)
Summary: From her lover's arms on the beaches of Troy, through a journey with Aeneas and a capture in Carthage, and back to Greece as a pawn of war, this is the tale of Briseis - who has travelled far to hear that Achilles did not die in Troy.
Comments: This is one of the best fanfics I've ever read in this particular genre. The writing style is very poetic - go read, now!

Fandom: King Arthur (Movie)
Title: Pax Romana
Author: the original coda
Rating: T (PG-13)
Summary: The other knights watched as Tristan began to drag the woman he called Isolde out of the tavern. It was unlike him to make an outburst. Was he bringing her to her home, to her family, or perhaps, to his bed?
Comments: I love the take on the Isolde/Tristan angle! The author mixed history rather homogeneously with fiction, and the result is quality fanfic. The author's writing style also adds to the over-all goodness of this fic.

Maybe I'll set up a rec site soon and post my fave fics there. Or maybe not. Who knows?
