1. The epic love story of Romeo and Juliet Romina and Julius as told through the medium of traditional Filipino verse had me rolling around in stitches xD

2. I first encountered Rafe Bartholomew when I read his article on the Ateneo-La Salle rivalry on the New York Times. Then I finished his book on Philippine basketball the other day. (Which I liked very much, despite not knowing much about the PBA--college basketball is more my thing, heh.) When a google search on the man revealed a promo vid he did for a meet-and-greet in New York last year, I think I fell in love. HAHA.

3. I still haven't studied for next week's comprehensive exams, la la la.

Okay, so I was trawling youtube for videos of The Civil Wars' live performances (which you should check out because they're AWESOME), when I had a brainfart: Poison and Wine is Dean and Cas's breakup song OH GOD.

(Joy) Your hands can heal, your hands can bruise
(John) I don't have a choice, but I'd still choose you
(Both) I don't love you, but I always will

Joy sings Dean's parts and John sings Cas's and this is perfect for them WHY ARE THERE NO FANVIDS YET? I want my weekly dose of WAAAAANGST damn it. ;__;

1. My 8-year-old brother, over dinner: "Supervillains are so stupid. Why do they want to blow up the world? They're just going to blow up themselves!"

2. I've decided to do the 30-Day Song Challenge over at FB. And because this journal needs more content, I'm going to cross-post the song entries here.

Day 01 - Your favorite song

Barton Hollow by The Civil Wars:

There's something about the way their voices blend together that makes me want to listen to them all day. It doesn't hurt that the guy looks like a musically-talented version of Johnny Depp. (I love the man, but he should never have been Sweeney Todd *hides from die-hard fans*)

3. I HAD NO IDEA MARK IS WATCHING A:TLA. I AM MIGHTY PLEASED. :D

4. Misha Collins is TROLLOLOLOVELY HAHA.

...than to look for TV ads on youtube. And then laugh hysterically and/or bask in the glow of warm and fuzzy feelings elicited by said ads. I love watching commercials. :D

1. Nikki Gil's first Coca-Cola commercial, the Filipino version of the "I Wish" ad. I infinitely prefer this version to the US one, mostly because it feels very much like a busy Manila street, sans the crush of the crowd, heh.

2. Bingo Chocolate Cookies. Their fake British accents crack me up xD

3. Selecta Cornetto "Video Store". This will never fail to reduce me to fits of laughter xD

4. Nestle celebrating 100 years of selling their products in the Philippines. I love love love their tagline. 'Ang sarap pag nahanap mo ang iyong kasambuhay sa habambuhay.' I am such a sap, heh.

5. McDonalds, "BFGF". The little boy is just too cute to be borne xD

Comment and I'll give you a letter. Then, post five songs that start with the letter.

[livejournal.com profile] xenokattz gave me the letter "N". I don't have a lot of N songs @__@

1. Today's Crowning Moment of Funny: "I'm being nice to you guys because one day, one of you will be touching my prostate." --Mr. P

2. I love this module's integration activity. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. Music and the brain! Celebrity guest speaker! Wheeee! :D

3. Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. P is my new idol. He made me forget the disappointment that is the second Neuroscience module exam, tomorrow's final exams, and the fact that I've yet to touch the research proposal due TOMORROW NIGHT AAAARRRGGGHHHHHH.

4. This afternoon's soundtrack:
- Field Day by Jim Chappell
- Tuwing Umuulan at Kapiling Ka by Eraserheads (and the Regine Velasquez version)
- Panalangin by APO Hiking Society
- Doobidoo by Kamikazee

5. OH GOD MIKEY BUSTOS. )

6. I am unaccountably giddy tonight. I should really start studying now.

1. BRAAAAAAIIIIINNNNNNNNSSSSSS. ALL I SEE ARE BRAAAAAIIINNNSSSS. Brains in the morning, brains in the afternoon, and brains in the evening! I AM SICK AND TIRED OF BRAAAAIIINNNSSSS. I wish I were a zombie so I can appreciate all the BRAAAAIINNNNSSS I've been exposed to. D:

2. It is a sad state of affairs indeed when you consider that one of the most creative things I've done in the past six months is to draw BRAAAAAAIIIINNNNSSSSS in all their glory. )

3. THIS HAS BEEN STUCK IN MY HEAD FOR AGES AND AGES:

...and the guys:

We're flying Cebu Pacific to Caticlan this November. I think I'll spend the majority of this routine laughing my ass off during inappropriate moments :D

I'm taking a break from studying right now by trawling youtube for videos of Misha Collins being...Misha Collins. This is the most hilarious one I've found so far among the numerous SDCC interviews, mainly because the interviewer just went along with whatever Misha said. As she should.

Speaking of the SDCC: according to the Supernatural panel... )

Also, I've gotten hooked on the new BBC Sherlock Holmes series, where the homoerotic buttsex subtext between Holmes and Watson became SUBVERTED HOMOEROTIC TEXT IN SPARKLY BOLD FONT. Obviously, I love it with a passion that rivals the output of a thousand fiery suns xD

nyah.

Because high-school-friend!Christine is evil and made me lose track of what I was supposed to write for my PSY 104 paper, I present this to you, dear f-list:

So, yes. Am now completely addicted to "A Cello Rondo". Why I didn't discover it sooner, I have no idea.

This is a video of my dad and his friend playing "Auld Lang Syne" earlier this evening. (And my god it's almost 1.30am and they're still at it. o__O) My dad played the piano, and his friend played the saxophone. Witness my brother's yearning to join the adults, the many instruments found around in our living room (the harp we got from Cebu couldn't be seen clearly, alas), and the Christmas tree that we haven't put away yet. Listen to my conversation with my aunt at the beginning of the video, as we wondered whether her camera captures sound or not:

I'm currently watching Neil Gaiman clips at Youtube.

For some strange reason, I expected his voice to be more lower-pitched than it really is. I have absolutely no idea why.

In any case, I love his sense of humor. xD

[edit] here's a video of him reading a short story he penned called "Babycakes" (which is a favorite of mine).
