Okay. Not only did they move the School of Social Sciences to Leong Hall, which is freaking far from the buildings where classes are held, the Psychology Department could now be found on the third floor. *sigh* The only consolation I can find is that the Economics majors got the short end of the stick, as their department is on the fourth floor.

I wonder what they'll do to the old Social Sciences building? It would be a colossal waste of resources if they demolish it, as the building is perfectly fine as it is.

I'm multitasking, baby! My PSY101 notes are on one side of the table, Chemistry notes on the other, the laptop's in front of me, and I'm attempting to study both Psych and Chem while watching Doctor Who on TV Links. Ahaha. I think I'm trying to kill myself. Or maybe I'm just celebrating, in a roundabout way, the fact that I didn't have to write any brain-eating papers this semester. xD

***

This week is supposedly my hell week, yet I find myself not caring. I mean, I have a long test scheduled everyday this week. Observe:
Monday - PSY106 (coverage: sleep and reproductive behaviors)
Tuesday - Spanish (coverage: future tense, past tense, Philippine and Spanish history, Spanish art, customs, and traditions)
Wednesday - PSY101 (coverage: personality, psychological disorders, social psychology)
Thursday - Statistics (lecture) (One-way and Two-way ANOVA, correlation)
Friday - Chemistry (coverage: VSEPR theory, valence shell theory)

I survived Monday and Tuesday unscathed; I hope the rest of the week plays out the same way.

***

Finals week is next week. My stress levels are still not on par with the general population's levels. I don't know whether I should be worried or not.

Hee, I'm on a first day high. xD (Oo na, baduy na ako. :p)

***

I arrived at school at 6.30am, the earliest I've been to school ever. (I was trying to avoid the traffic, heh.) Ran into Paul and was delighted that someone shared my eagerness for the classes to start. xD Hung out with Paul and John at the caf. Paul and I played a game wherein we tried to guess which students looked like freshmen while John was zonking out. We three then played a round of Tong-Its to commemorate the start of a new semester. Ahaha. xD

The first class of the day was CH7, and there was much confusion as to where our classroom is supposed to be. According to the regform it was at SEC-A, but according to AISIS the night before it was at Schmidt Hall. But there was another class at our classroom at Schmidt, and it turned out that we were supposed to be at Faura, whereupon we found out that our classroom wasn't air conditioned and has no LCD projector. Boo.

My second class was PE106, which is table tennis. We were just given the course syllabus and told that we won't meet on Monday. Yay!

Third class is PSY101 and OMG WE HAVE MA'AM QUEENA! Banzy, Rai, and I hogged the front row, along with Kari[livejournal.com profile] saekomizuku and an irregular student, mwahahaha. Though the requirements for passing this class is scarier than what the older batches experienced, I don't particularly care. I is excited for this class, I is. I loves Ma'am Queena. xD

Next is PSY102.1 and I was happy because the classroom is air conditioned, and we were in the front row again, ha! We really didn't do anything interesting, and when the teacher told us to ask her any question we wanted to ask, it was open season for nosy curious people. xD We found out that she's 37 years old (she looks ten years younger), and that she's a mother of four children (WHUT?), among other things.

CH8 was the last class of the day, which was spent mostly trying to hear what the instructor was saying as there are forty students or so in her class (God, I hope nothing explodes) and no one really expects a bunch of hyperactive students to keep quiet all throughout her period, especially since there were a lot of stuff to fiddle with. (We were in a Chemistry lab, and it's the first time we had a Chemistry subject, so...) Also, I'm seated near the noisiest guys in the class, so really, I'm doomed. I was also sneezing and rubbing my nose like hell, because the locker where all the materials assigned to me is dustier than a dusty thing, urgh. I should remember to bring anti-histamine next time.

Banzy and I spent our time after classes going around NBS and looking for Mind Movers along Katipunan. After that, we headed off to Gateway to have our ID pictures taken; while waiting for the shop to process our pics, we went around the big NBS branch in Cubao.

Meh, I'm so exhausted. Walking around Katipunan, then walking around Cubao and taking the MRT home lugging a bulky book (I bought the PSY101 textbook already!) is not recommended for the weak of leg. Haaaaaaaaay.

Excuse me. I'll go and pass out now.

Am staying over at Banzy's house tonight, because we went to the Lantern Parade over at UP, and thought that we'd stay there 'til late.

But it turns out that there weren't any lanterns in the parade at all, and there was a rally going on. Blegh.

On the plus side, I met up with Bet [livejournal.com profile] sandinyoureyes earlier. xD

The new LJ update page made me squee. xD

day one )
day two )

All in all, I think this semester is going to be more difficult than the previous one. But I hope that my prediction will be wrong, for once.

second semester schedule )

Argh. I hate Filipino. It's bad enough that I would have to endure an hour-and-a-half long lecture, but no, they had to schedule it at 7.30 in the morning! Which means I have to wake up at FIVE IN THE MORNING if I want to get to school on time. GYAAAAAAAH.

My PE is basketball. Yes, snicker all you want, but this four-foot-eleven-inch girl will prevail! (I wanted to take Advanced Volleyball, but we have a class in their only timeslot. *le sigh* Such is life.)
finluithiel: (Default)
Okay. Jumping head first into working on the Filipino paper right after finishing the English one is definitely one of my less-than-stellar moments. My brain hasn't caught up with my body yet, and I found myself writing about feminism in Filipino children's books in English.

Gyaah. I'll shift languages, starting...now.

Ayan, sige. Nyarrr.)

Hay, buhay. Parang life.

;p

Sige na nga, magsusulat na ako.

I'm sleepy and my head hurts. Reading up on theories as to why the Philippines' own brand of Folk Christianity came about is slowly but surely turning my mind to mush. I have a math exam tomorrow, damn it. I should be studying right now. But I hate studying. Which means that I should be thankful that I'm writing the English paper instead. And I am, really. (Thankful, I mean.) So I shouldn't whine on my LJ and get on with my life.

Which I shall do, starting...now.

Ta.

I keep telling myself that this week wouldn't turn out as bad as the hell weeks we used to have in high school.

But then I remember that I lost my one and only source of cheap iced coffee. (I used to gulp a little less than 500 mL of caffeine-laced goodness every morning, to keep me awake after all-nighters. *__*)

So now I just weep. And try not to fall asleep on the public transport, because I might miss my stop.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY [livejournal.com profile] saekomizuku!!!

***

Had fun today. Ate two slices of pizza and around a quarter of a basket of mojos in Shakey's. Also helped to create the ULTIMATE ICE CREAM SUNDAE OF DOOM. Mwahaha. Never underestimate the stomach of a teenage girl. XD

After lunch, Paul, Banzy and I went to an Internet cafe to play O2 Jam. I ended up paying homage to Paul's O2 Jamming skills and watching MadTV spoofs and Cervini dormers on youtube instead. Haha. Cervini HeadWorld! LOL. I love Banzy's friends. XD

We went back to Ateneo after an hour to get some stuff. Paul then went home while Banzy and I took the shuttle to stay at McDonald's to wait for a friend of hers she wanted to meet up with.

It turned out that Banzy's friend is a sophomore from Ateneo High. Had a great time teasing him, because he was a little shy around the two of us. Haha - I guess it stems from the fact that he rarely interacts with girls seeing as he attends an all-boy school. XD

***

All in all, today was a good day. :)

Now, as for tomorrow, however...it's the third Math test. GYAAAH.

Good luck to me, then.

I still haven't thought of what to research on. It's a good thing that we're only required to write a research proposal instead of a research paper, else I think I would just die.

I just noticed that the library has a sign that says:

Don't leave your things...

Or else they might leave you!

I love my school. XD

The reason why I feel depressed: Aralin sa Kasaysayan # 3 (Kung Paano Pumatay ng Bata), a poem we had to read for Filipino class.

I know I shouldn't let something as trivial as that affect me this much, but there you go.

I'm currently sifting through my old blog entries. I'll copy-paste the more interesting entries for my English project (which is an autobiography).

I can't believe I had such profound thoughts at 14 years of age. O_o

Spent the entire afternoon in the library, trying to decipher the articles in The Journal of Expereimental Botany. I swear they weren't written in English - I think it was in botanist-speak or something.

In any case, right after I finised writing up my summary (aka paraphrasing the abstract of the paper) and insights on the topic I chose, and depositing the class's papers on Teh Ebil's desk, I immediately gobbled up a footlong hotdog sandwich and a bowl of ginataang oatmeal and sago, because thinking too hard makes me hungry, blegh.

I hope we get the results of our Math midterms tomorrow, just to get it over with. But knowing our professor...*sigh*

For all you poor people who haven't seen/heard about The Dollhouse yet: The Guidon's website wrote an article on it!

My brain cells are dead - DEAD!! - and I don't know how to revive them. I still have to finish my Filipino paper, damn it! D<

I volunteered to be a "tour guide" on Thursday for Japanese exchange students!! Hehe, I am so glad I joined ASEC...XD

Watched Fly Away Home for Lit earlier. Haha, Anna Pacquin, I fluff you. XD

Filipino test is in fifteen minutes. Buh-bye.

Wish me luck.

I feel like throwing up the miniscule amount of food that I ate today.

I hope we don't have classes tomorrow.

I FINALLY FIGURED IT OUT!!

The vascular bundle of a monocot stem LOOKS LIKE THE ALIENS FROM INDEPENDENCE DAY while the vascular bundle of a dicot stem LOOKS LIKE THE FOOTPRINTS OF GODZILLA.

The vascular bundle of a dicot plant has TWO extra components - VASCULAR CAMBIA (sing., cambium) and TRACHEIDS. The vascular cambium is the reason why dicots have FIRMER STEMS. A tracheid is an elongated cell inside the xylem that TRANSPORTS WATER.

There are five kinds of secondary walls that may be inside a tracheid. There's the annular, helical, scalariform, reticulate and pitted.

THERE. I SUMMARIZED IT ALL.

I AM NOT GOING TO FAIL BOTANY I AM NOT!!!!
