Who finds the casting for young!Grindelwald as loltastic as I do? Personally, I'll always be reminded of that scene in Sweeney Todd where he gets beaten up by Snape's Judge Turpin's lackeys over and over again and yet he still sings out to Joanna! *snerk*

Speaking of our dear evil overlord, I blame the following on [livejournal.com profile] elyse24601, who featured the poem in a trilogy of Dumbledore/Grindelwald fics that's very likely part of my personal fanon, now. Go. Read. Them!

When you see this, post your favourite poem in your journal.

I'm posting poems that I love from two different languages because I cheat like that.

I'm trying to relax before going back to writing my dev psy paper. So I started looking for Filipino poetry, when I found a prose/poem hybrid thingy by Arkaye Kierulf:

In this room I was born. And I knew I was in the wrong place: the world. I knew pain was to come. I knew it by the persistence of the blade that cut me out. I knew it as every baby born to the world knows it: I came here to die. )

I was helping my sister look for a poem suitable for sharing with her creative writing class tomorrow, when I found my copies of Eric Gamalinda's poetry. Seriously, that man is my favorite English-writing poet, but I couldn't pinpoint just why I love his poetry so much. He grew up in the Philippines, but he doesn't write like a Filipino. He's living in the US right now, but he doesn't write like an American. His style is...well, I can't explain it. You just have to read him for yourself, I guess.

Anyway, the poem my sister eventually chose is, of course, by Gamalinda. It's fairly simple and straightforward.

I was more chipper than normal today, according to Banzy, since I'm usually a "doom-y-ish" and "gloomy-ish" kind of person. I think it was because we escaped from having to endure lab. Hee.

Banzy and I watched Rush Hour 3 at Gateway earlier. It was...not really sucky, but the ending left us hanging and going all BWUH? o_O

Anyway, my good mood dissolved once I was right in the middle of crossing EDSA, because the rain fell straight down. Then, when I arrived home, I experienced having to be with a hyperactive little boy experiencing cabin fever. So far, I've had to reprimand him for: turning off the computer while I was still using it, hitting my sister because she happens to be in the same room with him, and not cleaning up after himself after playing with his toys. Needless to say, I am NOT looking forward to tomorrow, as classes are suspended in all levels again. JOY.

A morbid and sad little something, because I'm in that kind of mood right now:

The reason why I feel depressed: Aralin sa Kasaysayan # 3 (Kung Paano Pumatay ng Bata), a poem we had to read for Filipino class.

I know I shouldn't let something as trivial as that affect me this much, but there you go.

I was cleaning up my harddrive, and I chanced upon this. Wrote it more than two years ago, and, reading it once again, I cringed. It didn't seem as sucky back when I first wrote it, but then again, I have the advantage of hindsight. Anyway, I decided to fix it and post it here. The original version can be found at fanfiction.net.

BTW, it used to be an Howl's Moving Castle fanfic. I modified it so that it become original poetry. XD
