1. Why I didn't start watching The Voice last season, I will never know. I find it more entertaining than American Idol these days.

2. The construction for TV5's new studio a few blocks away is more than halfway done, and by the time they're through and fully up and operational, I will never be able to get to school without encountering traffic, because, without a doubt, Willie Revillame's fans (may that repulsive man go and die in a fire) will camp out on the street waiting for a chance to get inside and be seen in his crazy-ass, creepy-and-sleazy-and-offensive-as-fuck noontime show. Argh.

3. My schedule, let me show you the madness *cries* )

4. JUST A LITTLE MORE THAN TWO WEEKS LEFT.

1. Will Set You Free by [personal profile] scaramouche is one of the best, crackiest, and shortest SPN S6 fix-it fics I've had the pleasure of reading. :D

2. Dragon Age is eating my brain. So far I've parallel-played 3 characters (with different origin stories, natch) up to Redcliffe Castle. One may say I am obsessed. They won't be wrong.

3. Just finished watching the 2011 Big Fat Quiz of the Year. Still can't find it in myself to like David Walliams. He seems so superlicious, argh.

I love today. Today may possibly be my favorite day this semester, because:

1. Research proposal panel defense takes place this afternoon. Which means after that, I'LL BE FREEEEEEE! \0/ Well, until ASMIP starts, that is and if I don't find myself in the removals list oh god PLEASE lower the MPL by 1 point, that's all I need!

2. NIGHT OUT! With friends who aren't with me at med school! WOO-HOO!

3. I can finally, finally work on the sizeable pile of books and DVDs I've been meaning to watch/read, but didn't have time for. And I'm gonna start with House of Leaves, America's Next Top Model, and Peacemaker Kurogane. WHEE!

Somehow, I don't think this was what Dean Winchester had in mind when he said he didn't want to be a 'meat suit':

I'm not emotionally prepared for class tomorrow. Also: why do US shows have to start around the time when I'd need to study for this module's finals? T__T

Started watching the Robin Hood BBC series, and it's crack, I tell you, CRACK. Plus, there are so many pretties that I couldn't stop watching. Only watched up to 1x07 so far, and the amount of Richard Armitage I've feasted on gives me a warm and glowy feeling inside. Hee. :)

While I like vampire stories just fine, I was never as fond of them as much as I'm fond of elves and dwarves and sci-fi in general. But I think I may start to like vampires after watching the first episode of True Blood this afternoon.

Ahem. Excuse me while I go ogle at Stephen Moyer's vampire stare. xD

Just finished watching the mad but brilliant 4-part show Lost in Austen, wherein Amanda Price, 21st-century girl, encounters Elizabeth Bennet in her bathtub addressing her as "Ms. Spencer" ("It's written on your underclothes!") and swaps places with her. It's filled with anachronisms and plays around with canon ("Hear that sound? That's the sound of Jane Austen rolling around in her grave!") and this is probably the first time in the history of P&P adaptations that I find the actors for Wickham and Bingley hotter than the one they got for Darcy. (Coincidentally enough, they're both named Tom. Hee.)

I was giddy and acquired a stitch on my side by the time I finished the series. That was the most entertaining 4 hours I've had in my most recent memory. It's similar to the satisfaction I get from reading substandard 'girl-falls-into-Middle-earth' story: it may be brainless fluff, but it's entertaining brainless fluff, and that's all that matters to me -- "chasing gaiety" and all that. xD

Go watch!

ETA: Memorable scenes:
- "Why is my daughter Lydia crying?" "Oh, expect it's because she's bored!"
- Mr Bingley whittling a spear from a tree branch after his failed "social experiment"
- Mr. Tinkler Collins
- Mr. Wickham the ladies' fashion guru
- Mr. Darcy and Tinky Winky
- Jane and Mr. Bingley running away to America to have 25 children, all named "Amanda" (even the sons)
- Caroline "Frosty Knickers" Bingley propositioning our heroine
- every single instance Mr. Wickham chases gaiety

I've only just finished watching episode 3x08 of Dexter, and oh my god. The word "intense" doesn't do it justice. And that cliff-hanger at the end made me want to throw something at the screen.

I can't wait until I find time to watch 3x09. I bet it'd be fan-freaking-tastic.

I read Ella Enchanted earlier. 'Twas nice; it has a different kind of charm from the film based on it -- actually, the film doesn't resemble the novel at all. I still can't decide which one I like better, because they're both cute in their own quirky ways. Heh. :D

I've watched up to episode 5 of the taiga drama Shinsengumi!, and heh, I love their casting choices. Katori Shingo as Kondou Isami was a wise move, but I must say I'm really happy that Odagiri Joe played Saitou Hajime!

The thought of a yakuza!Saitou tickles me, considering the fact he ends up a member of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department. I don't know how historically accurate that is (all that's known about his life before the Bakumatsu is that he's from a family of gokenin, low-class samurai), but seeing him hustling people for money made me laugh like a loon.

Also, the way Odagiri-san portrayed him in episode 5 gave me an insight to his motives for marrying then leaving behind Shinoda Yaso for Takagi Tokio...which gave rise to a plot bunny. It'll probably never leave my harddrive as I usually hate the things I end up writing, but but but! Oh, the thoughts racing through my head right now! I'm feeling really giddy, hee!

I've just finished watching the ITV production of Persuasion. I like it, although there were too many scenes shot with a handheld camera. And the running back and forth across Bath thing made me laugh like a loon. I was also tickled when I realized that the man who played Brutus in Rome played Mr. Elliot here, heh. xD

I usually don't watch TV because a lot of the shows aired whenever I get home isn't really nice. But sometimes I wish I watch TV more, just so I wouldn't get behind in shows like Bubble Gang. (Yes, I was a Bubble Gang kid. "Ang Dating Doon" was my favorite segment. Ahaha.) (Ang Dating Doon ay nandito na ngayon -- Alien? ALIEN!!!)

So yes. I present to you Filipino nursery rhymes in Gay Lingo, courtesy of dearest cousin Mikey:

I finally got around to start watching the first season of Rome; am now in episode 5. While it's a bit heavy-handed with the sex scenes (we get that Romans were depraved, there's no need to show it every ten minutes or so), I love it so far. Octavian has to be my favorite character: he's a cold young man, and you know he hates being babied by his mother, but then he puts up with it anyway (to lay down foundations with which to manipulate her, I suspect), heh.

Also, it took me five episodes to realize that Cicero is played by Mr. Collins. I think the spinelessness of the Senator is what clued me in, ha.

I can't wait to get my hands on season two. I want the Caesar storyline to end so I could focus on more Octavian yummies, oh yes. :D

ETA: Looked around a bit, when I found a blogpost featuring very, VERY not-safe-for-work pictures of Octavian getting it on with Livia. I will never watch the 2005 version of Pride & Prejudice the same way again because of that. I'm very much tempted to yell, "Don't let that boyish exterior fool you -- Mr. Bingley likes it rough, yo!" at Jane everytime they're on-screen together, heh.

I've just finished watching episode 10. Oh, season two DVD, where are you?!

I finally, finally have time to fully appreciate watching season two of Dexter on TV Links. Aiee, does that series kill me.
