Sick again. Damn. Being sick makes me feel miserable.

But not miserable enough to stop finding opportunities to cheer me up...

Oh yeah. My mom just told me something that she saw on TV. She was watching a talk-show, I think, and they were talking about the public schools in the US releasing their students' BMIs alongside their report cards. Apparently, obesity is so prevalent there that they had to encourage their students to be healthy as well as academically prepared.

One of the benefits of living in a third-world country is the fact that the chances of something like this happening here is almost zero. In fact, if the students' BMIs were to be released with report cards, it would only show that more than 50% of the kids here are underweight.

I propose that public schools in the US cut their cafeteria food in half and the surplus be brought over here as relief goods. Eating American food just might cheer malnourished children up - thus making them eat more. (Addressing the colonial mentality problem would be left for another day. For now - let's just take advantage of it, shall we?)

If this plan were to work, maybe the chances of me seeing painfully thin waifs in the streets wearing uniforms two or three sizes too big for them would decrease. (Or maybe it's just optimism talking.)
