The X-Men team formed at least 100 years ago as the result of a freak accident. The original members had discovered the X-Files, which X-Plained that the X-Quisite sword X-Caliber had been X-Tracted from the X-Tremely secret X-Cavation site of Xanadu. While X-Ploring the area they encountered a vat of the X-Perimental Chemical X. It X-Ploded while they were X-Amining it, X-Posing the group to an X-Ceedingly X-Cessive X-Tent of X-Rays. Their X-Istences were forever changed; their Y chromosomes were X-Punged, leaving their X chromosomes as the X-Clusive gene. Which is to say they became women. Hence, they called themselves the X-Men.
